The EVTs come in two models, EVT-4000e (which is more motocycle looking) and the EVT-168 (which is more retro looking). They both have similar specs.: a 1500 watt motor, 48v-50ah batteries, dual hydraulic disk brakes. They don't go quite as fast as the Zapino, only up to about 35, and don't feel quite as solid, but are well built bikes with about the same total battery power (2.2kWh) and have been proven to go over 50 miles.
EVT 1500w Motors Really 3000w
The official specs indicate that the EVT scooters have a 1500w motor. However, due to some reliability problems with the 1500w motors, the manufacturer started shipping 3000w motors sometime in 2007, although they are still marked as 1500w. They definitely provide more power, but since they are driven with 48 volts rather than 60 volts, won't have as much power as other 3000w scooters that do have 60 volt batteries. However, it is not guaranteed that they will continue to ship them with 3000w motors.

The Z-20 and R-20 are exciting new scooters that EVTAMERICA developed. It has taken them a couple of years to get everything right, so although we haven't tested one yet, are expecting it to be a great scooter.
Both models have the same internals and differ just in the body styling. The Z-20 is the motorcycle style while the R-20 is the Vespa/retro style. The price being under $2000 with a basket and windshield is very good, but this is just an introductory price. Also, the shipping cost hasn't been released, but is likely to be another $200 or so.
